Stolen ‘Pulp Fiction’ Classic Chevrolet Recovered 19 Years Later!

Saturday, April 27, 2013 the New York Daily News reported that the convertible featured in Quentin Tarantino’s classic flick was returned almost two decades after being pilfered!

Authorities say the classic Chevrolet convertible featured in the film "Pulp Fiction" has been found nearly two decades after it was stolen.

The San Bernardino County Sun reports movie director Quentin Tarantino's 1964 Chevy Malibu Convertible was recovered in the San Francisco Bay area earlier this week.

John Travolta's character drove the cherry red car in the movie.

Sheriff's Sgt. Albert Anolin said an investigation into an old Malibu in the desert city of Victorville on April 18 led detectives to another Malibu in the Oakland area. They then confirmed that vehicle belonged to Tarantino and was reported stolen in 1994.

Authorities say the car's current owner is not believed to be involved in its theft and is considered to be a victim of a fraud.

A message seeking Tarantino's comment was not immediately returned.

2014 Chevrolet Camaro RS V6 Spied Sans Camo

First look at the face-lifted base-engine Camaro!

While GM made hay at the 2013 New York Auto Show with the unveiling of the updated Camaro SS on the show floor, we saw the new front and rear fascias, as well as the new extractor hood for the V8 cars.

The V6? Nowhere to be found, until now, that is. Our spy shooters nabbed a completely undisguised 2014 Camaro RS out on the prowl. The instant tell that the car’s a V6 is the plain hood; there are no extractors. Likewise, it wears the red RS badging (SS RS models get red SS badges, remember) and has a simpler bumper treatments. Out back, a pair of dual-tipped mufflers add some visual punch under the new and strangely pedestrian-looking taillamps.

Even If You Don’t Drive A Cruze Eco, You Can Still Make A Difference!

Driving a fuel-efficient car is one of the best ways that a driver can protect the environment. (Did you know that at 42 MPG highway*, the Cruze Eco offers the best highway mileage of any gas-engine car in America?) A few minor changes in your daily routine (no matter what vehicle you drive) can help make a big impact.

1. Carpool. Duh! Not only will you get to know your office mates, but you’ll also save on gas. Isn’t it nice to be the passenger for once?
2. Plan ahead when you have errands to run, so you can take care of them efficiently in one fell swoop. Why drive home and go back out multiple times? Life isn’t a relay race. Planning ahead is a seriously simple strategy for saving gas and most times, your sanity. Your wallet will thank you.
3. Don’t forget to fill your tires with air every now and then. When your tires start to deflate, it forces the engine to work harder, and in effect, the engine burns more fuel. Spending some pocket change at an air pump once in a while is far less expensive. Check your owner’s manual for more info.
4. Don’t idle. Instead of driving in circles when you’re waiting for your wife to exit the grocery store, just park and turn the car off. As much as you love the feel of the wheel in your hands, turn the car off and give your engine (and the environment) a much-needed break.
5. Clean out your car regularly. Not only is an uncluttered car nice to look at, but the heavier the car, the harder the engine has to work. The harder the engine has to work, the more fuel it requires. So be proactive and only keep the necessities—registration and insurance papers, and emergency gear—on hand.

Tips on Convertible Car Care

A convertible is a stylish choice of automobile that has been consistently popular for decades, and it isn’t difficult to see why. A convertible affords you a unique driving experience, able to enjoy the sun on your face and the wind in your hair while moving at incredible speeds. Like any car, though, convertibles need regular maintenance, and one thing that must be taken care of is the car’s convertible top. It will require some time and a little elbow grease, but it will definitely pay off. After all, if the top breaks, you’ll either be left with a standard roof, or no roof at all! Thankfully, if you’re wondering how to clean and care for your car’s convertible top, you’ll be relieved to find that it’s actually quite simple.

What Products Clean Convertible Tops?

First, make sure you buy the right kind of cleaner for your convertible top. The two most common choices for convertible tops are vinyl and fabric, and these materials require regular cleaning in order to look their best. The label should specify which kind of top it is made for. If it’s doesn’t, don’t buy it—it’s worth making sure that you have the right equipment for the job. Vinyl can often be cleaned with regular car shampoo, although some standard soap may be too harsh for the job. Fabric, on the other hand, requires a fabric top cleaner. Simply wash as usual with a soft-bristled brush and then hose the suds off, and you’ll find the top shining in no time. While vinyl is designed to be water-repellent, fabric is not; it is treated so that it is suitable for use as a convertible top. A fabric guard will keep you from getting soaked while it is raining. Simply apply with a flat sponge, making sure to get every part of the roof. Several light coats are preferable to one thick coat, which will take a long time to dry. If you live in a particularly rainy area, one coat per month should be plenty; less is needed for drier climates.

Protect Your Convertible Top and It Will Protect You

It is important to treat the convertible top itself well. Although most modern models retract automatically, you should make sure that there are no obstructions, or you could damage the mechanism and potentially tear the fabric. Many vintage convertibles have to be retracted by hand, which is easy, but remember to be gentle—after all, older parts are usually more difficult to find. Thankfully, convertibles require little maintenance beyond this. You’ll find that cleaning and caring for your convertible top is a cinch, leaving you free to drive off into the sunset!

2014 Chevy Impala

It's Official!! The ALL NEW Impala has touched down in our showroom!

Driven an Impala lately?

Once America's best-selling car, the full-size sedan has mostly been relegated to auto-rental fleets, police departments and car services. About 70% of sales come from fleets, according to Chevrolet, while only 30% comes from individual buyers.

The marketing challenge for the General Motors brand and its ad agency, Commonwealth, Detroit, is to flip that sales ratio "completely around," said Chevrolet Senior Marketing Manager Rich Martinek.
"This car is very much a retail play for us," he said. To get there, Chevy will have to modernize the Impala's image to appeal to younger, more affluent consumers. The median age of Impala owners is early 60s, said a spokeswoman, noting that's "very consistent" with other large-car models.
The first step is the sexier, sleeker 2014 model hitting showrooms this month, which Mr. Martinek said is aimed at "dynamic leaders" -- or successful, college-educated professionals making more than $90,000 a year. Chevy expects sales to break down 60/40 among men and women.
Commonwealth recently rolled out under Chevy's "Find New Roads" campaign a spot called "Tuxedo Man": a suave Impala owner moves through his glamorous days and nights to the tune of Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me to the Moon."

Chevy, the official vehicle of Major League Baseball, is also borrowing interest around the start of the season and working with MLB to create a series of "Here's to Baseball" videos at chevybaseball.com.
Launched in the 1958, the Impala eventually grew into America's best-selling vehicle. The Beach Boys wrote the song "409" about the big, powerful car and the Impala was one of the vehicles driven by "Bewitched's" Darrin Stephens in one of TV's earliest product-placement deals.
But the gas-guzzler fell on hard times in the 1970s and 1980s. GM discontinued the nameplate in 1985, brought it back in 1994 only to drop it again in 1996. Impala was resurrected in 2000.
Its best sales year in the last decade was 2004, according to Automotive News, when Impala raked in sales of 267,882 units. Last year, the brand sold 169,351 units. Chevrolet spent less than $700,000 on Impala advertising in 2012 vs. around $2.24 million the year before, according to Kantar Media.
Convincing younger, successful suburbanites that the car they know best as a rental or police cruiser should be at the top of their shopping list is "no easy task," said Michelle Krebs, senior analyst with auto consultancy Edmunds.com.
But she praised the baseball tie-up as a good fit. The Impala customer is "a very American kind of buyer," Mrs. Krebs said. "They still want the big car. ... It's certainly not your young, urban buyers."

Chevy Introduces an All New Performance Sedan

The 2014 Chevrolet SS

In late 2013, Chevrolet will add an all-new sport sedan to its already impressive performance car lineup with the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet SS. The Chevrolet SS is the first rear-wheel-drive sedan to enter the Chevrolet portfolio in 17 years. Engineered for performance enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating driving experience while providing luxurious space, comfort and convenience for up to five adults, this V8 sedan will also serve as Chevrolet’s winning entry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™. The Chevrolet SS debuted at Daytona International Speedway® on Saturday, February 16, 2013, and will begin arriving in showrooms late this year.

The design aesthetic for the Chevrolet SS is elegantly athletic. Strong, contemporary yet refined shapes are sculpted with restrained sensitivity from the muscular rear-wheel drive proportions. Flowing lines begin at the aggressive front fascia and integrated HID headlamps that flow into a sleek mid-section and give way to a tapered rear that helps to manage airflow. Bulging pronounced fender flares and its low wide stance divulge its high-performance underpinnings.

Polished aluminum alloy 19" x 8.5" front wheels up front and 19" x 9" wheels in back wrapped in ultra-high performance summer only tires plant its athletic stance, emphasizing its rear-wheel-drive capability.
Restrained, but muscular, the Chevrolet SS is a sophisticated machine.
