Although Hurricane Sandy made landfall back in October, many of our friends and family are still feeling the effects of it today. As much as we all would like to put the past behind us this Holiday Season, the reality is that some of us are still pulling out of the damage. Here at Route 46 Chevrolet, now more than ever, we are proud to be a part of the Chevrolet Family.

Chevrolet has donated two-dozen Express Vans to Habitat for Humanity to aid in the recovery process in New Jersey and New York. Combined with the hundreds of tools donated by Lowe’s and the Robert Bosch Tool Co. the Chevrolet Express Vans will be put to work helping communities recover from Hurricane Sandy. The vans are the latest contribution by Chevrolet, General Motors and the GM Foundation to Sandy relief efforts that total more than $2.8 million.

GM Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson has stated that “As the initial reports of Sandy’s devastation recede from the headlines, now the hard work of recovery begins to help affected communities and people get back on their feet.

Mayor Greenbaum's Extended Test Drive

Mount Olive Mayor Robert Greenbaum recently took an extended test drive in one of Route 46 Chevrolet's Volts. He took to his Facebook account and gave play-by-play and personal opinions on the Volt. Mayor Greenbaum took the Volt on a variety of weekend activities including stopping at ShopRite, going to the gym and filling up at the gas station.

When asked how he liked the car, Mayor Greenbaum took to Facebook and stated "Very solid, seems well put together, decent pick up, really quiet." While Mayor Greenbaum did have to stop at the pump to fill up, it only cost him $20. Later on that night he was able to charge the Volt up at home. On average he Volt will be completely charged in 10 hours.

Upon his return to Route 46 Chevrolet, Mayor Greenbaum was very enthusiastic and wanted to take a spin in another Chevy model. Mayor Greenbaum even jumped into a Corvette and posted a picture to his Facebook joking that he may have to test drive this model next! Check out our Volt inventory and other models today!

Truck Fleet Loaner Vehicles

Loaner trucks are now available at Route 46 Chevrolet.

Have you ever dropped your car off at the dealership and were given a loaner vehicle half the size of what you normally drive. “The other day I was speaking with a service customer, he asked for a loaner vehicle. As we were filling out the loaner paperwork, I asked him what vehicle he wanted to drive. The customer was so surprised to find out that Route 46 Chevrolet now has so many choices. He ended up picking our newest loaner, a 2500HD Silverado. The customer then wanted to know if he would be able to go to Lowe’s and pick up something he couldn’t fit into his vehicle. I told him that was the reason we put the Silverado into the fleet of loaner vehicles. Let’s just say that this made his day!”
